Re: Most perfect pop song of the decade
Not to be a stick in the mud, but it pretty much sounds like most of what's played on Top 40 radio these days. Breathy opening, big vocal explosion, empty lyrics...rinse, repeat.

Re: Homeless - Jacksonville, Florida - Give a guy a break..
jjenkins... Good job posting such clever shit on a radio message board, Keyboard Warrior. Only someone who's suckled on the dual dried-up teats of rampant self-loathing and xenophobic vitriol could ever hope to produce such prescient brain blather. You're like a human Play-Doh extruder, my man. Your...

Re: Gotta love GHETTO RADIO
I have to agree with the OP. The real shame is that people who've been in this business for decades are thrilled to take crumbs for the "honor" of "carrying headphones into work." I board-op at a top-3 station and the jocks there have been in radio for more than 200 years combined (no joke). Some of...

Re: Radio vs Internet
Hey, onairla.... I'm the sap that you speak of. I found my co-host and we're doing just swell, thanks. Being in the #2 market don't mean squat unless there's a job to be offered. I was offering an opportunity to do something fun for a couple of hours a week. Yes, you're probably too busy making your...

Re: Return an email to an applicant.
Hey, man... I feel your pain because I used to get supremely pissed when my well-crafted demos and Hemmingway-like missives were ignored. I even got myself into a bit of trouble on several occasions by not letting those dogs lie, and it wan't until my old PD set me straight that I finally calmed dow...

A question about headsets...
Howdy, all...
I've been doing an internet show and was thinking about getting a headset (with a mic). Any opinions/warnings/recommendations would be appreciated. I'm not a huge tech geek, but like the idea of being able to move around and have my hands free.
Thanks!

A technical question...
Howdy, all. I've been doing an internet radio show and running my mic through the sound card on my computer. The sound is crap. Should I get a pre-amp to solve the problem, or do I need a mixer? Keep in mind that I'm going live (it's not a podcast). Also, I don't really know much about the tech side...

Hiring from within the company...
I've never quite understood why companies are required to advertise a job that they're planning to give to someone in-house. Why can't they promote from within? It seems ridiculous, especially when it makes job seekers think they have a shot and send materials for nothing.
