What do you do after radio?

Radio gigs getting fewer and farther between, and the jobs that are out there only paying in the $28k to $35k range.. has me wondering about life after radio.

What sorts of careers are radio kids transitioning into that allow them to pay the bills?

Re: Can you earn a livible wage in radio today???

You absolutely CAN earn a living in radio, but not right out of college/broadcasting school. Get a gig part time working the board for games, get some kind of experience inside the station. Volunteer for everything, start picking up fill in shifts, get involved in production, help with promotions. C...

Production library/Splat stuff

Looking for ideas and suggestions for a production library. Beds, FX, stuff like that used in general production, liners, imaging, that sort of thing.

Either to license outright or pick up on barter.

What do you use?

Re: WXXL Sex Toy Giveaway

Sex toys are a $15 BILLION dollar a year business. People are obviously buying them. Would I give them away in all markets and formats? Absolutely not. But if I was on a station where every other song was about hooking up in a club, the "Don't do anything that would make mom uncomfortable" ship sail...

Re: The end is near....

For as much as a Harley costs you'd think they could include a functioning muffler. If they didn't have loud, obnoxious exhaust systems nobody would notice them on their "belly button bikes". The Harley is like the friggin' Camaro of the 80's.. everybody has one. They see three episodes of "Sons of...

You're a funny guy, Halltalk.. true, Daryl never seems to shower.. but let me know when there are facebook pages dedicated to chicks that wanna bang Halltalk and you can critique his style. ;) You got me rolling.. jealousy? Re: The end is near....

Not to turn this into a discussion on motorcycles, but ... Who would brag they leave their bike out in the elements, never change the oil, etc? That image of Harley you mention is outdated. I won't argue that Honda and Yamaha might be more durable than Harley. But as a guy who rode both for years a...

Re: The end is near....

I don't have any problem with WalMart.. And I'm all for paying less for stuff.. But I also like quality stuff. I'll pay more for good stuff, but still don't wanna pay full retail.. And I have trouble paying what I call the "Fan Boy Tax" on items.. That amount over and above the products fair value j...

Re: The end is near....

Danno, I think you might be drunk and high if you think the people at Harley Davidson aren't asking themselves EVERY SINGLE DAY how they can make those bikes cheaper. In fact, in the 70's it was the running joke that the bikes would fall apart before you made it home from the dealership... and if Ha...

Re: The end is near....

Quality? When has media ever been about quality? It's always been about marketing whatever you can for the least amount to the common denominator. In EVERYTHING we consume. Automobiles, food, television, radio, electronics.. how can we make this even cheaper and sell it for more? That's the question...
