I'm done...at least for awhile.

Well kids, I've been on the air now pretty steadily for the past 35 years or so. I'm not sure why, but I've had folks who don't understand real radio chide me for producing a "weekend filler" show (when I doubt they're on the air anywhere) I've had some accuse me of being a dinosaur that can't live ...

Re: Small and Medium Market Social Media Marketing Solution!

Wrong, Don. This "older gentleman" isn't hawking anything. I'm merely pointing out that those running the business today know nothing about the essence of radio and how to make it work and GENERATE REVENUE. If they did, radio wouldn't suck as bad as it does, now would it?. As far as my one hour week...

Re: How about a good morning first

Yes, JJ, we see you. We know you come here to feel as though you actually once worked in this industry and feel a part of it. The thing is, when you make comments like the above, you prove to the rest of us that you're not old enough to have worked in radio...unless you've found a station that hires...

Re: Small and Medium Market Social Media Marketing Solution!

Pretty subtle about placing your ads. No...not really. But your attempt to generate business here highlights EXACTLY what's wrong with radio today. Young whiz kids jumping in to the business with all the answers when they don't even know what the questions are. "Hey! Check out this classic car I fou...

Re: Had to share

Danno...thanks for the chuckle! The funny part was "...the station you work at" when talking to JJ. JJ has never worked in the industry although he'll try to convince you he has and with some success. He trolls around here talking about how we broadcast professionals are losers because we work in an...

So, this is what it's come to...

I’m just dumbfounded. I’ve worked in this business on-air and as a Promotions/Marketing Director for 35 years now. In my semi-retirement from the industry I’ve been producing and hosting my own weekly 1 hour travel/entertainment/culinary show just to keep my fingers in it. I own my show. I choose th...

Re: Not For The Faint Of Heart

hey JJ, don't forget that this site is for those broadcasters you mentioned, but also for the "never weres" like yourself that just can't help but troll here and dream about what might have been...had you had the talent to pull it off. Thanks for dropping by. We'll hear from you again when you've fo...

Re: Jobs

Danno, not sure how old you are but let me give you the view from where I am at 55 with 35 of those in this business. First, this business is no different than any other except for the fact that as soon as the current crop of real estate investors that fancy themselves broadcasters took over after d...
