Carolwood Records

Post by Blocklo » Tue Nov 03, 2009 2:25 pm

I was sad to see today that Carolwood Records has closed it's doors. It seems like they just opened! At least Love and Theft and Trent will get to stay at Lyric Street. You hate to see more people out of work though...they had a good promotions team. Hopefully they can get something new quick.
Anyone hear anything else about the decision? I've heard it was just financial reasons.

I'm sorry to hear the news too. Budgets are tight and dreams are big...imprints aren't always the way to go these days. Hope those people that got let go can get back in the game again very soon.

I am also not happy to see a label closing, and we keep hearing rumors about other companies too.
And I know times are bad, but it's not like Disney is hurting.

I think a lot of these businesses, and not just in our world, are using all this stuff as an excuse to get rid of people, make everyone left work more hours, just so those CEO's can keep their fat paychecks.

It's just a lot of bullshit right now.
