Christmas Versions

Post by SkyPotato » Mon Nov 30, 2009 3:04 pm

What does everyone think of the artists who are coming out with "Christmas versions" of songs...i.e. Bonfire by Craig Morgan and Trailer Choir's Rockin The Beer Gut? I'm just wondering how much play they will actually get against all the Christmas classics.

I've def heard Craig Morgan's Christmas Bonfire here already. I'm all about new Christmas songs as long as they aren't super cheesy. Some of them are a stretch! But I get sick of the same Christmas songs over and over and over all day.

I personally think Christmas versions of current songs are kinda cheesy, but it's a nice twist on things for this time of year, especially if they are really timely hits. Like Bonfire, for instance - they are trying to go for a #1 on that song, and I know of a lot of stations that are having a second wave of success on that song because of the Christmas version.

If it helps in that aspect, I'm all for those versions.
