Small Market Radio Sports Technology Question

Post by [email protected] » Wed May 01, 2019 4:04 pm

Hello,

small market radio station, in need of better sports technology. Does anyone know of any video or audio technology, that gets around the problem of cell phones signals cutting in and out? As you all know, cell phones are not the best quality, especially in small town gyms, etc.
Looking for a way to get clear audio and or video, that isn't breaking up a lot, because of the small town cell coverage issues.

Please email any links of products, to:

If you're okay with using the internet for backhaul, there are a million of them, most of them inexpensive (provided you're already carrying at least a smartphone). With that said, the digital dropouts the net can provide are a different version of the same problem...

The best way is probably to use the internet, but talk to the schools you're going to ahead of time (like before the season) and get their IT person on the line, not the AD and let them know your needs. It's like we used to do back in the day when landlines inside gyms required approval from the schools, only with using their internet infrastructure...nothing beats communication...
