Degrees of Freedom

Doc: I need something for one of my classes and need a quick answer please. My question is: What is your new definition for statistical term “degrees of freedom?” Thanks. - Anonymous

Anon: Quick answer? OK. I typed this quickly: An intentional and predetermined reduction in sample size to provide a conservative data adjustment to compensate for research error.

I hope that’s what you need. However, if you or anyone else needs a detailed explanation of Degrees of Freedom, here is a link to “The Research Doctor Archive,” click here. Degrees of Freedom is at the top of the page.
