I love radio and have had my moved paid for and I have been told the will reimburse me and they didn't..

In answer to the question of most companies out side of radio don't.. My Friend just moved from Boston to San Diego for large pet company and paid her 15k for the move.

Radio needs to start treating the talent with just a touch of respect we are for the most part the lowest paid in the building and yet if we were a talent in in other industry movies,tv,video games etc we would be the highest paid and garner some respect.

But guess what "Chaddy?" You are not "a talent in in other industry movies,tv,video games etc." You are a radio moron. Radio requires ZERO talent today and in fact REQUIRES zero talent because anyone with a voice and with talent wouldn't spend their life in an industry where "music is the star" and talent is told to shut up. If you had any real talent you would not be in radio.

"Danno" says I should be ignored as he does anything but. Typical douche. I was in market #2 and a few other top markets. What about you tardo? Radio is a wasteland now. Full of talentless zombies who read liner cards and push buttons. Easily replaceable and hard to remember. Keep "ignoring" me douche boy, you're so good at it. Go whine about moving expenses some more, LMAO.

IMO the guideline is easy. If you HAVE to actually MOVE to work for THEM, and they WANT YOU, they should pay for it. Done deal. In EVERY industry. Not just radio. I would not accept anything less. Like the guy said, if they really want you, they will pay a couple grand for your move. Chump change. Compared to my salary and more importantly, the revenue they expect me to bring to the station.

If you needed help with $220 for a shit motel, and are now bragging about making mid 30s in salary it is you who needs to describe the fast food fryer. You are too pathetic to waste much time on. Give your wife my best, she must be wondering why she married such a broke, pathetic, moron.

All I'm saying is I've known for a while that I wanted to be in this business so I've been saving my pennies. I can afford the move.

We can't all be superstars like you, jjenkins.

I mean, SOMEBODY has to take all those crap jobs you turn down, right?

Although I gotta say.. YOUR accomplishments aren't real clear. Seems like if you really were (or had been) somebody in the radio biz, you'd be more than happy to share that info with the group.. so I'm going to have to assume you're just talking out of your ass.

I've had even broke ass stations in micro markets put me in a motel for a month and pay me relocation expenses. Gas, tolls, food, lodging on the trip, the whole 9.

It comes down to this: You're only worth as much as you sell yourself for.

You want me to uproot my life and come to your city and do a show, and make an impact in your community, that's going to cost you more than a liner card reader/board op.

And I don't think that's unreasonable.

The lesson we can take from dylan's story is simply this: Cross your t's and dot your i's.

Got a pet and need pet friendly lodging, get that in writing.

Because a piece of paper that says 2 weeks in a hotel doesn't mean 2 weeks in a hotel for you, your dog, your cat, your goldfish, three kids, your wife, and a puerto rician hitchhiker you picked up on the way to the sunshine state.

Get it in writing. Specifically. And don't leave home without it.

LOL attitudes like that is why radio continues to struggle and loose people in the business that are talented.. I don't work in the music side of radio I work in the Talk side and yet I see my friends in radio struggle and be marginalized and continue to take it..Sad but true..
