When I first started in the entertainment industry, I worked at country station in Sacramento, CA that I believe was the basis for the sitcom WKRP in Cincinnati; today I am a TV Development Executive in Los Angeles and would love to create a reality TV show based around a radio station that has dynamic on-air and off-air personalities... but I can't find that station/group...

is there a real WKRP out there???

feel free to email me with your thoughts.... Harlan @ CollectiveRealityTV.com

C'mon, Harlan...isn't there enough tragedy on TV?

Funny, though, when I worked in Southern California for an AOR in the 80's there was a newsman that would send actualities to the LA stations from the inland empire. It was rumored that one of the stations he sent audio to was the home of the technical director for WKRP and the character of "Les Nessman" was based on him. Right down to the tape on the floor that defined his "space".
