Racist ads on a Kansas City station
Glenn Miller. No, not the old timey orchestra guy. This dude is nuts! The FCC is being asked to decide whether an ad by Miller, who is a fringe candidate in Missouri's U.S. Senate race should be able to air campaign commercials. Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster filed the request with the FCC on Friday. He was joined by the Missouri Broadcasters Association and a radio station chain in mid-Missouri.
The ads contain racist comments not only against African Americans, but also Hispanics, and the Jewish Community. This guy is absolutely crazy. The Kansas City station is begging the FCC to be able to deny the ads, but under federal law, they have to play all candidates commercials.
Very interesting. I suggest if you have not heard the audio, to google his name.

I think I'll file this under - "Geez, if I didn't know better..."
Why didn't you post the audio or a bit of transcript? Are you his campaign manager?
If I want to see racist idiocy, I'll attend another "Town Hall Teaparty" gathering.

Typical liberal uninformed response winterwest. The only racists at a tea party gathering are the liberal infiltrators trying to make the movement look bad. If you actually spent any time whatsoever going to a tea party meeting, then you'd know that they do not support racism. Thats what you get for listening to main stream media. Turn off the Obama butt kissing CNN and MSNBC news channels once in a while and listen to real news for a change. I suggest Alex Jones for non-partisan news even though the conspiracy theories are sometimes hard to swallow.winterwest wrote:If I want to see racist idiocy, I'll attend another "Town Hall Teaparty" gathering.
You are such a typical "liberal" radio dj winterwest, mouth off before you know anything about it- you tool!

So..."partyshark"
("tool", huh?) Let me guess, 20s? It's just not me to beat you up and make you look stupid, so let me instead school you a little.
The fact that you would call me a liberal tells me the media (yes, the same one I've worked in now for 30 years) is doing it's job. What is that job? It's to paint those who disagree with you as "the enemy". That way, while we're at each others throat, the whores in Washington on BOTH SIDES OF THE AISLE can continue to screw us all. You see, the problems in this country are not caused by the Democrats. They're not caused by the Republicans, either. The problems in this country are caused by the Democrats AND Republicans. Each act in the best interest not of us, their employers, but in the interest of those who will stuff their pockets.
The Tea Party started out as a way for the 70%ers to address their issues with the government. Do you know what the genesis of the Tea Party was? Do you know who was originally embraced by the Tea Party before it was co-opted by the far right? Did you know that one of the original tenets of the Tea Party was that it was to be non-partisan? I thought not.
Now, on to what I know and what I don't. I produce an annual event to provide firewood to the families of local deployed military and veterans. (I know, f#ckin' liberaL pinko military haters!) To produce this event, I interface with the military liason in the office of our very conservative and one time presidential candidate Republican senator. In fact because of our schedules, the only place we could meet last time was at one of these "non-partisan" events...where he was scheduled to speak! In short, it was basically a GOP event aimed at slamming the current administration. Of course, that's just one event, right? Wake up, youngin' ! Educate yourself before you go kickin' us old dogs. You never know, you might learn something.
(By the way, I've enjoyed listening to Alex Jones when I've caught him)
Now as for you, unOfficial,,,what would make me (or anyone else that's been around awhile) think you were an insider? Could it be that rather than post any specifics, you're trying to drive people to his website? Old trick. if you didn't know that you're probably not in much of a position to be telling me the way things are. And by the way, I'm not wearing any...

For your info, It's been ALL over the news lately. If you watched CNN you would have known yourself. And a friend of mine (Jeff aka Woody on 105.7 the point st. Louis mornings, currently #1 ratings in St. Louis) gave me the info and he talked about it on his show yesterday (4/21/2010). It seems you do not know much/keeping up with the industry that you currently work in.

BUZZZ!! Wrong answer, (ehm cough, cough) Early 40's. You once again assume that you know something but you're wrong.winterwest wrote:So..."partyshark" ("tool", huh?) Let me guess, 20s?...
I am not saying that I agree or disagree with your political view. I am pointing out the fact that your generalization of Tea Party Supporters as being racist is false and a liberal tactic to try to discredit the movement.winterwest wrote: It's to paint those who disagree with you as "the enemy".
I never made an indication to either party being more correct, in fact, I cited Alex Jones as being a good choice for news. He is for neither party and actually helped start the Tea Party in support of Ron Paul.winterwest wrote: The problems in this country are caused by the Democrats AND Republicans.
I never indicated that you're a military hater. I see this as an attempt to vilify me and garner support for yourself through the tactic of "demonizing your opponent." Nice try.winterwest wrote: I produce an annual event to provide firewood to the families of local deployed military and veterans. (I know, f#ckin' liberaL pinko military haters!)
Old dawg here too Mr. Man, more than 20 years in this business, so don't assume you are the only "old dog" on the board, hahaha!winterwest wrote: Educate yourself before you go kickin' us old dogs.
Like I said in my first response, not a youngin', but wish I was. I've spent many of hours in a prod room cutting and splicing with a china marker and splicing tape to be called new in this biz, buddy. I've rewound bad carts and cleaned more cart machine heads with a q-tip than I care to remember. I remember trying to get a hold of R&R before the job ads got ripped out. I remember the sweet-sickening smell of the fresh ink of FMQB and Network 40 magazines that hit the mailbox on Monday, and if you were quick enough, you could grab it, read it, then have it back in the PD's box before he showed up.winterwest wrote: Wake up, youngin'
You obviously like to assume many things winterwest, if that is, in fact, your real name!?!? lol partyshark out!

Re: Racist ads on a Kansas City station
Alright, partyshark, you're not playing fair dragging me down memory lane by the grease pencil.
I'll tell you why this was a valuable exchange. We BOTH assumed things about each other based on a couple of paragraphs. I think that's an indication of how we (as in "We the People") don't really trust each other the way we used to anymore because of the vilification in the media of those who don't think as we do.
I mentioned the 70%ers (of which I'm one) We're the ones who don't occupy the 15% idiot fringe on either end of the political spectrum. I've got very conservative views on many things, somewhat liberal on others. I live in a state I can walk around armed if I wish without a permit. I like that. An armed society is a polite society. I also think marijuana should be legalized, taxed and controlled. Generate a little revenue and keep our law enforcement a little safer, not to mention freeing up a little prison space.
I doubt we'll all ever agree with what we want in government, but we can all come pretty close to agreeing on what we don't want.
Ya wanna open up a can of worms...? Health Care.
On the 27th of last month I hit my five year mark cancer free. I beat STAGE 4 THROAT CANCER. Besides the fact that me and God are pretty tight, I beat it because I had incredible health insurance and two of the best doctors in the nation.
My point is this: There is absolutely no reason for one person in the greatest nation in the world to die of a disease that either could have been prevented or cured. There is also no reason that the money to pay for such a program couldn't be found in the billions in waste each year. Our government employees seem to have a system that works for them, don't they? Any reason "We the People" couldn't be part of that same system? Don't we deserve the same coverage we provide our EMPLOYEES? And yet, our EMPLOYEES dictate to us what we can and cannot have. What's worse, while they're screwing us out of something they have at our expense, they're telling us we should thank them for it.
Health Care is easy to solve. Take it away from every member of the legislative, judicial, and executive branch of government until they figure it out for the rest of us. And by the way, when I left my last job they didn't continue to pay for my insurance. Why do we continue to pay for theirs?
Anyway, long story short: You assumed I was a liberal. I assumed you were a kid. Neither of us is either. One thing seems clear. We obviously both care about what happens to our country.
e-mail me if you want to talk about welfare and war.

Re: Racist ads on a Kansas City station
Winterwest,
I am glad you beat cancer. I don't like to see good people afflicted with horrible diseases.
I do want to see more natural treatments to diseases instead of resorting to drugs that pharm companies push all the time where the side effects are worse than the disease or condition. I am not a fan of the health care reform in it's current form. I would rather see that money spent on actual disease research and treatment through more natural means.
If people would eat better, alot of ailments would dissipate. And that's just a starting point
This health care debate is too involved for a message board debate, so it's really fruitless to attempt a dialog here.
