So I've been working in radio for 4 years now, 3 interning at a heritage rock station, where 2 out of those three years I was hired and give a very entry level paid position. Currently I'm a part time On Air personality and I've been doing that for a year now. I'm very grateful for having this part time work and being on air, I enjoy every second of it. However, like most, I want more! I send out my resume to 6-7 or even 10 stations a week. Yet I never hear anything back. I'm trying to get back to Active Rock or Classic Rock formatted stations, and after having friends that currently work at rock stations listen to my demo and give me very positive feedback I'm still trying to get even an e-mail back. How can I grab a PD's attention? What does it take to stand out and get a full time position? Can anyone advise me?
