KSL TV is looking for a creative and experienced storytelling photojournalist to join our Enterprise news team. A successful Enteprise Photographer will work effectively with our team to consistently shoot and edit compelling investigative and feature stories in both long form and deadline environments.


Demonstrate creative and technical abilities in photojournalism. Demonstrate outstanding video editing skills, with an emphasis on creativity and post-production acumen. Demo reel may be required demonstrating accurate, fair and creative photojournalistic storytelling.
Work both collaboratively and independently, as situations require, to shoot and edit footage for use in the Enterprise Unit.
Demonstrate sound ethical principals and behaviors related to a frontline journalist representing Utah’s most demanding broadcast news operation.
Have a fundamental understanding of the best investigative practices as a member of KSL’s Investigative Team. Maintain and update digital photo equipment used in the production of investigative reports.
Correctly operate and maintain all camera and other assigned gear.
Show initiative and innovation in problem solving in all aspects of enterprise/news production with moderate amount of supervision.
Actively contribute to story development when working with reporters and producers.
Showcase frontline KSL-TV news talent by utilizing high-standards of professional videography, sound and lighting techniques. Become adept at executing multi-camera setups of on-camera interviews.
Show high competency in the use of DSLR digital cameras and multiple lenses associated with digital cameras of various types. Demonstrate similar adeptness in the medium of still photography.
At events of news interest, gather information, shoot video, communicate with producers and editors to effectively present events.
Work in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
Work effectively in a team environment.
Maintain a positive and cooperative rapport with staff, management, and clients.
Project an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor.
Consistently work hours required. Work more when required to meet deadlines including flexible shifts, weekends, holidays, evenings, rotating days, overtime, etc. Required to work extended hours as needed.

Five (5) years’ experience as a news video photographer/editor, or equivalent.
College degree in communications, journalism or related field or equivalent professional experience.
Deep understanding of journalistic principles and ethics, with a proven track record of excellent news gathering ability.
Capable and willing to resolve unexpected problems and be flexible to perform unscheduled assignments.
A high level of proficiency with non-linear editing software, particularly Adobe Premiere Pro.
Maintain a valid driver's license and proven ability to safely drive a station vehicle without exposing company to serious liability risks.
Possess excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal skills.

Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.
Substantial physical movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction with good eye and hand coordination.
Lift, move, and carry up to 25 pounds on occasion.
Drive to and from news events in a timely and safe manner.
Proven ability to handle stress.
