The 24-year old singer, whose famous parents are musician Billy Joel and model Christie Brinkley, has a new single "Notice Me", now impacting Hot AC.
The new single, and its accompanying video, is a sunny, euphoric tune with strumming rock guitars that, quite honestly, show slightly more influence from the memorable guitar riff in George Michael's "Faith" than from her father Billy Joel.
The song is pulled from Joel's upcoming album "All I Can Do" released in September.
Newsday likes the single saying it boasts "bouncy guitar riffs and an instantly hummable chorus" adding that it have flavors of Regina Spektor crossed with Katy Perry.
Joel is promoting the single which she says boasts jazz hints. Reps for Joel call her music "jazz-influenced textures and deeply personal yet playfully insouciant lyrical perspective of her songs." And lyrical is just what the music industry needs. Joel cites her influences as everyone from Randy Newman to Billy Holiday to Joni Mitchell and sees her contemporaries as Norah Jones to Corinne Bailey Rae.
