Tom Odell
Jan 30, 2023

Singer, songwriter and musician, Tom Odell released his debut EP, Songs From Another Love, in 2012. The release gained him attention and led him to win a BRITs Critics’ Choice Award in 2013 and a place on the BBC’s 'Sound Of' list. Later that year, his platinum-selling debut album, Long Way Down, was released and reached #1 on the UK Albums Chart.
In 2014, Odell won the Songwriter Of The Year award at the Ivor Novello Awards. He went on to release his second studio album, Wrong Crowd, in 2016, which charted at #2. His third studio album, Jubilee Road, was released in 2018.
Odell's dedicated work ethic became an obsession that culminated in crippling anxiety, leading to a dark period of mental health that Tom wrote his way through. These broader lyrical horizons needed to be matched by a musical expansion, coming in the form of his fourth album, 2021's Monsters.
Ten years after the release of the single, "Another Love", it returned to life via TikTok. The song about frustration and love was being used in clips created to protest Ukraine's resistance to the 2022 Russian invasion, and later, by women on social media, who recorded themselves cutting their hair in support of the women-led protests in Iran.
