Although All You Need Is Now was released as a nine-track digital album late last year, a physical CD version of the effort has yet to emerge. But all that changes March 22nd when All You Need Is Now lands in stores, containing all the songs included in last year's download plus five new tracks to lure you into your local record store.
The 13th studio album for the British band was produced by Mark Ronson. Ronson also co-wrote three songs, the title track, 'Safe (In The Heart of The Moment' and 'Girl Panic'. Ana Matronic from Scissor Sisters and Kelis also have guest roles on the record.
The single, "All You Need Is Now" impacts Hot AC on March 14th.
And the stars of the 80s new romantic scene have been speaking about the creation of the new record, which was produced by Mark Ronson, suggesting it could be their best effort in years.
"One of the things I like about this record is that it's unselfconsciously pop, it's catchy without trying to be," singer Simon Le Bon told the Liverpool Daily Post.
According to the band, Ronson played a large role in inspiring the album's sound.
"He revitalised us," commented the band's Nick Rhodes. "He found an energy in us that hasn't been there for a long time."
The band has three dates before the April tour gets underway, playing Austin's SXSW March 16th, WinStar World in Thackerville, Okla., March 18 and the Ultra Music Festival in Miami March 25th.
The April tour begins on the 2nd of the month in Mashantucket, Conn., at the Foxwoods Resort Casino. Other dates are April 4th at Atlanta's Center Stage, April 6th in Houston at Warehouse Live, April 20th in Denver at Ogden Theatre and April 23rd at Chicago's House Of Blues plus previously announced shows at San Francisco's Fillmore Auditorium April 16th and the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, Calif., April 17th.
Dates on the April tour are being touted as "album release shows" taking place in advance of "an extensive North American tour," according to the band's press efforts.
Duran Duran will also make the TV rounds, appearing on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" March 22nd, "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" March 25th, "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" March 30th and "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" March 31st.
