Neil Young
Mar 28, 2011
Neil Young has announced a 10-city American theater tour kicking off April 15th in Durham, North Carolina. The show will be a continuation of his 2010 Twisted Road tour, which featured Young performing most of the songs from the Daniel Lanois-produced Le Noise alongside many of his greatest hits, including "Ohio," "Down By The River," "Cinnamon Girl" and "Helpless." Unlike Young's previous solo theater tours, many of the songs were performed on electric guitar, though he does play the piano, organ and an acoustic guitar throughout the evening.
The tour wraps May 7th at the Chicago Theater, but one month later Young is slated to perform at Bonnaroo with Buffalo Springfield. Last month David Crosby told Rolling Stone that Buffalo Springfield, who played their first concert in 42 years at last year's Bridge School Benefit, will tour in the fall.
Springfield singer/guitarist Richie Furay wrote on his official blog that a tour is slated for September. "There is no word yet on a rehearsal or tour schedule so there is still a chance that things could fail to materialize," he wrote. "But this time around there seems to be larger forces at work driving things forward and only the Lord knows for what ultimate purpose."
