The Script
Aug 6, 2012
Lead-singer Danny O'Donoghue and guitarist Mark Sheehan formed The Script in 2001 after meeting Glen Power, a young drummer from Dublin. The three Irishmen meshed together very well and wrote three songs in their first week together. Shortly after coming together, Sheehan's mother and O'Donoghue's father passed away, causing their music to take a dark turn. Their first single "We Cry," released in 2008, was described as overwhelmingly bleak, although it was well received in the UK and Ireland, peaking at #15 on the UK Singles charts. Their second single "The Man Who Can't Be Moved" also had a good reception, topping out at #2 on the UK charts. Later that year they released their first album, The Script, which topped the charts. The most successful single was "Breakeven," which has been certified as 2x Platinum. Science and Faith, The Script's second album was released in early 2011, once again placing the group at the top of the UK's charts with the success of the single "For the First time."
The Script have announced the release of their third album, simply titled #3, for Fall 2012. The first single from this album, "Hall of Fame," was recorded in Los Angeles and features the Black Eyed Peas rapper will.i.am. The song was released on July 23rd.
