Seattle-based singer-songwriter, Mary Lambert, aka the woman responsible for the chorus in the Macklemore & Ryan Lewis gay marriage anthem "Same Love," has now expanded her contribution into a full song of its own. The track, now entitled "She Keeps Me Warm" has added verses, violins and Lambert singing and playing the piano. It is been transformed into a fully-fleshed out ballad about love. The original "Same Love" has proven popular by staying on the charts, garnering more radio airplay after the overturning of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and Prop 8. The song was recently certified platinum, while the music video nabbed an MTV Video Music Award nomination.
Lambert's debut EP, Letters Don't Talk, was released in 2012, and peaked at number 18 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter charts. More recently, on December 17th, she released her second EP, Welcome to the Age of My Body, via Capitol Records. It features a new version of "She Keeps Me Warm"; "Body Love", which was broken into two parts and a new song, "Sarasvati". She will be releasing her debut album in the spring of 2014.
