The Eagles

On January 15th, the newly revamped Forum in Los Angeles kicked off a re-opening celebration of the legendary venue with the first in a string of concerts honoring the History Of The Eagles. The new improvements made by the new Azoff Music Management and Madison Square Garden (MSG) partnership include many upgrades to the legendary building, most notably the excellent acoustics which now make the Forum one of the premier venues for concerts in the Los Angeles area.
The Eagles performed for close to three hours playing all their big hits along with several other surprises that took the audience from Don Henley and Glenn Frey's genesis of their early songwriting partnership as touring musicians in Linda Ronstadt's band, to their debut release, and spanned the band's 43 year career and the multiple albums that followed.
The show started out with a simple acoustic performance of "What Ever Happened To Saturday Night," and developed as the night went on. Henley and Frey were joined by guitarist Joe Walsh, bassist Timothy B. Schmit, and a special guest appearance from founding member guitarist, banjo player Bernie Leadon, along with several other musicians which filled out the band's signature sound.
The Eagle's set list also included "Train Leaves Here This Morning," "Peaceful Easy Feeling," "Witchy Woman," "Doolin' Daltin/Desperado (Reprise)" "Tequila Sunrise," "Already Gone," "Best Of My Love," "On The Border," "Lyin' Eyes," "One Of These Nights," "Take It To The Limit," "Pretty Maids All In A Row," "I Can't Tell You Why," "New Kid In Town," "Love Will Keep Us Alive," "Heartache Tonight, "Those Shoes," "In The City," JOE WALSH's "Life's Been Good" and "Funk 49," "The Long Run," "Life In The Fast Lane," and an encore that included the a capella classic "Seven Bridges Road," "Hotel California," "How Long," "Take It Easy," WALSH's "Rocky Mountain Way," and ended with the epic "Desperado."
Henley said that the tour, which would continue until 2015, "could very well be our last...we're gonna include at least one former band member in this tour and kinda go back to the roots, and how we created some of these songs. We're gonna break it down to the fundamentals and then take it up to where it is now."
