Katy Tiz

The British pop singer, Katy Tiz recently released her cover of Rock Mafia's song, "The Big Bang" via Atlantic Records. The single was released on iTunes on March 18th and it entered the Billboard's Mainstream Top 40 chart on May 3rd. The original song was recorded in 2010 and performed by Miley Cyrus. It was included on Playstation game FIFA 2012 and in the original motion picture soundtrack of the movie LOL (starring Miley Cyrus and Demi Moore), and it served to promote the TV Series VH1 Mob Wives and The Big Bang Theory.
Katy explains, "Personally, I search for songs that comfort me and let me know I'm not the only one who feels a certain way. If I help one person through what I was feeling when I wrote a song, I'll be happy. I hope I can give them what I searched for in music and that a couple of people other than my mom and dad like the songs."
In 2013, Katy Tiz broke through with the dance-pop hit "Red Cup." She originally began singing when she was 17 years old in a duo with her brother, but after gigging around the U.K. with their folk-rock music, Tiz decided in 2011 that pure pop was her calling, and that it was best to take on this quest solo. After posting the demo of her song "Fire Fire" to the taste-making ArjanWrites, Tiz was contacted by Arjan, the blog's owner, who had been asked to pass along the contact information for Lava Records A&R head Harinder Rana. She would sign with the Lava label and release "Red Cup" in 2013. The cathartic single was co-produced by superstar producer RedOne.
