Don Henley
Jul 26, 2015

Don Henley will release his fifth studio album, "Cass County" and his first solo album in 15 years, on September 25th via Capitol Records. It is named for the northeastern Texas county in which Henley was raised. The album was produced by Don Henley and former Heartbreakers drummer Stan Lynch, who also co-wrote 11 of the songs on the album.
The album represents Henley's early influences, his formative years as a musician growing up in a small town, and the impact of the music of the 50s and 60s, Western Swing, Gospel and Big Band on American culture. Recorded primarily in Nashville, Tennessee, and Dallas, the album includes guest appearances from Merle Haggard, Miranda Lambert, Mick Jagger, Martina McBride, Dolly Parton, Trisha Yearwood, Lucinda Williams, Ashley Monroe, Jamey Johnson, Alison Krauss, Vince Gill, Michelle Branch, Sally Dworsky, Gale Mayes, Angela Primm, and Molly Felder.
When asked about making "Cass County", Henley exclaimed, "I can truthfully say, I enjoyed making this record more than any record I've made in my career because of the people who participated. John Sebastian was dead right in 1965 or 1966 when he wrote that song 'Nashville Cats.' It's still true all these years later. There are some amazing musicians here."
Don Henley's solo career includes such hits as "Dirty Laundry", "Heart Of The Matter", "Boys Of Summer" and others. He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, and will receive the 2015 Kennedy Center honors later this year, as a member of the Eagles.
This October, Don Henley will launch a solo tour that will include concerts in Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Los Angeles, Nashville and more. Singer-songwriter Shawn Colvin will open on all the dates.
