Kris Allen, recently released his fifth full-length studio album called "Letting You In" via Dogbear Records. "Waves" is lead single of the record. He wrote or co-wrote over 70 songs for the record. Recorded in Nashville, he worked with a multitude of producers -- including Konrad Snyder (Mat Kearney, Owl City), Ian Fitchuk (James Bay) and Grammy winner Brown Bannister (Amy Grant, Steven Curtis Chapman) -- on songs that are described as his "most personal work to date."
"I felt like I needed to sift through my life and try to figure out what really I wanted to say on this album. I'm really proud of this record and excited for the fans to hear it! I think they're really going to love it. 'Waves' was actually the first song I wrote for this record, and it definitely inspired the rest of the album."
Allen was the winner of the eighth season of American Idol. His Idol coronation song, "No Boundaries" and his version of "Heartless" both charted within the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100. Allen's post-Idol self-titled album was released in 2009 and it debuted at number eleven on the U.S. Billboard 200 and it spawned the hit single "Live Like You Were Dying."
This spring, he will embark on a 36 city tour throughout the U.S.
