Brett Young Takes On '10 Questions'
Brett Young
"I don't think they play against each other as much as they work together. We're seeing it a lot in Country music -- SAM HUNT, TUCKER BEATHARD, CHASE RICE, CHRIS LANE, LEE BRICE -- these were all talented athletes at the very highest level, before professional. I think it's easy to look at that and say, 'Well, what a coincidence.' But, I don't think that's a coincidence at all. When you look at any entertainment field -- I come from SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, so in LOS ANGELES, you're talking about actors and models -- when you look at that, you think it just looks glamorous and fun and easy. The fact of the matter is, it's not easy at all. It takes up your whole life, and if you're not willing to give it your whole life, there's someone waiting behind you that is. I think this insurgence of athletes that are having success in the music business -- looking from the inside out -- I think it's that they are just willing to work hard for it. I think my background in that has been a catalyst in getting here. [MONDAY], MARCH 14th, [2016] was my first radio station visit, and it has been six days a week since then. If you're not willing to hurt yourself in the name of what you want, you're probably not going to get it."

That's BMLG RECORDS artist BRETT YOUNG discussing how his training as an athlete has worked in his favor, and the favor of many others, on the road to a successful career in music. YOUNG recently sat down with ALL ACCESS NASHVILLE to discuss his recent #1 hit, "Sleep Without You," as well as his forthcoming album, current single, "In Case You Didn't Know," and plans for 2017. Read the full "10 QUESTIONS" here.

With a background in accounting, LOVULLO started his career at CBS-TV in its financial department during the 50s, eventually segueing into production with “The JONATHAN WINTERS Show.” He co-created “Hee Haw” in 1969, then continued guiding the show through many years of syndication after its run on CBS ended in 1971. In 1974, the ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC presented LOVULLO with its JIM REEVES Memorial Award, recognizing his international contributions to Country music. Services are pending.

The SLVR Tongues
Johnny Cash
(The SLVR Tongues Entertainment, LLC)
“Woke up tasting a cigarette / Still got whiskey on my breath.” Who among us hasn’t been there, done that – or this: “Sunlight burning into my eyes / Woke up clutching a fifth of rye.” Yea, me neither, but I still enjoy living vicariously through songs like “Johnny Cash,” from the trio The SLVR Tongues – that first part is pronounced “silver,” by the way. This is an edgy, Rock-flavored tune from Hannah Huntley, Peter Erik, and James Lynch, who all met on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles – which sounds like a scenario out of the 60s, right? They’ve since relocated to Nashville to get serious about making Country music, and I’m not sure you can go wrong with a song titled “Johnny Cash.” It recounts a night of complete and total debauchery. “Scared to see the pictures I got tagged in” – explaining why “I Wear my black like Johnny Cash” – which is to say, “Black jacket, black glasses / A don’t-mess-with-me face.” This tune is a little Civil Wars meets Little Big Town from their “Pain Killer” album, and it’s instantly familiar. Does it push the envelope? For sure, but a lot of other music on mainstream Country radio does, too. If you’re looking for texture, and something that’ll make listeners notice the radio station, this will do the trick.
Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum (CMHOF)'s acclaimed exhibition, "Dylan, Cash, and the Nashville Cats: A New Music City," which was originally scheduled to close on Saturday, December 31st, 2016 will now remain open until Sunday, December 31st, 2017. "This is a testament not only to the enduring legacies of Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash, but also to the technical prowess and creative genius of the Nashville Cats," said CMHOF CEO Kyle Young. "Celebrating unsung session players has yielded one of the most compelling narratives we've ever told."

Continued Young, "Much like Nashville's present 'it city' status, Music City experienced a renaissance in the '60s and '70s, becoming a creative destination for folk and rock artists. This exhibition captures that relatively untold moment in time in a way that we know is beguiling museum guests. We are excited to hold it over and allow visitors one more year to explore 'A New Music City.'" For more information, visit www.CountryMusicHallofFame.org.
