SPOTIFY has unveiled a revamped SPOTIFY RADIO service, offering customizable streaming audio similar to PANDORA. While SPOTIFY has had a "radio" option in its applications before now, the new version allows users to save songs to playlists, repeat songs on demand, and skip (unlimited) between stations and tracks; users can create a station by clicking "Start Artist Radio" atop any artist page or clicking "Radio" in the left sidebar in the new "Spotify Apps" section.
The new feature is being rolled out over the next few days to all users, and a premium (paid) account is not required for the radio service, nor for unlimited skipping. PANDORA limits the number of stations and skips a user can make unless they upgrade to paid accounts. SPOTIFY CEO DANIEL EK unveiled the relaunched radio service at LE WEB 2011 in PARIS TODAY (12/9).
