While repeated requests by ALL ACCESS for confirmation from the station over the last three days have yet to answered, CUMULUS Talk WABC-A/NEW YORK midday host JOE CRUMMEY appears to indeed have exited the station. DON IMUS morning producer BERNARD MCGUIRK has been filling in during CRUMMEY's former shift, with NOAM LADEN remaining for news. After leaving CRUMMEY's name, information, page, and blog on its website THURSDAY, WABC has finally removed CRUMMEY from the site, listing only "77 WABC Local Talk" for 10a-noon weekdays.
CRUMMEY joined WABC just over a year ago after several years hosting shows in the PHOENIX market, most recently at BONNEVILLE Talk KTAR-F, from his LOS ANGELES home. His extensive resume includes stops at stations like KFYI-A/PHOENIX, KFI-A and KABC-A/LOS ANGELES, and WAPP (THE APPLE) and WNBC-A/NEW YORK. CRUMMEY's show was an attempt by former WABC PD LAURIE CANTILLO to introduce a local element into what had been a largely syndicated lineup at the station.
