FISHER HOUSE FOUNDATION has produced a three-hour Holiday special for radio to air on the CHRISTMAS weekend. "THE GIFT" includes interviews with wounded warriors MATT ZAJAC, TAMMY DUCKWORTH and DALE BEATTY; the mother of an injured service member, BECKY ZIEGEL; and a father who lost his son in combat, ROBERT STANTON. The stories illustrate the sacrifices the U.S. military and their families make and the need for FISHER HOUSE's facilities to allow the families of wounded troops to stay nearby during the recovery process.
"Just one percent of Americans serve in the military, protecting and safe guarding a population that does not fully appreciate the depth of sacrifice these people make," said FISHER HOUSE Chairman and CEO KEN FISHER. "These people are true heroes. We want to let the world know just how much they do for us every day, and ensure that if they have a need, that it is met."
Almost 70 stations have signed up to air the show, including CUMULUS Talk WABC-A/NEW YORK, CLEAR CHANNEL Talk KFI-A/LOS ANGELES, CUMULUS Talk WLS-A/CHICAGO, CBS RADIO Talk WPHT-A/PHILADELPHIA, CUMULUS Talk WBAP-A/DALLAS, GREATER MEDIA Talk WTKK/BOSTON, CUMULUS Talk WMAL-A-F/WASHINGTON, BONNEVILLE Talk KIRO-F and KTTH-A/SEATTLE, and many more. The show is still available in several markets; contact RON RIVLIN at ron.rivlin@cumulus.com for information.
