CBS RADIO Alternative KITS (LIVE 105)/SAN FRANCISCO is calling it a "CHRISTMAS Miracle," but whatever it was, a sold-out crowd at OAKLAND's ORACLE ARENA got a surprise when the headliner for the station's annual "Not So Silent Night" concert had to cancel and the replacement was more than adequate: GREEN DAY served as a last-second replacement for JANE'S ADDICTION.
JANE'S ADDICTION was set to appear at last FRIDAY's show when drummer STEPHEN PERKINS'family emergency caused them to have to bow out just hours before the show. But hometown heroes GREEN DAY agreed to fill in and saved the day, serving as replacement headliners for the show, which also featured YOUNG THE GIANT, BUSH, FLORENCE AND THE MACHINE, and MUMFORD AND SONS.
