The AMERICAN SOCIETY OF COMPOSERS, AUTHORS AND PUBLISHERS (ASCAP) honoured 50 CENT, ANNIE LENNOX and GREEN DAY at the 23rd annual POP AWARDS in BEVERLY HILLS last night (5/22). 50 CENT was named "Songwriter Of The Year" to honor his contributions to five of 2005's biggest hits, while LENNOX nabbed the "Founders Award" for her inspirational contributions to music. GREEN DAY's "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" and MARIAH CAREY's "We Belong Together" -- written by JOHNTA AUSTIN, JERMAINE DUPRI and MANUEL SEAL -- were joint winners of the "Song Of The Year Award," while the punk trio also won the "Creative Voice Award."
