COX RADIO Country KKBQ (The NEW 93Q)/HOUSTON morning host KEVIN KLINE will attempt to run a 100K (62 miles) a day around a .75-mile loop at the STAFFORD CENTRE in STAFFORD, TX. for seven consecutive days, starting DECEMBER 26th and finishing on NEW YEAR'S DAY, JANUARY 1st, 2012; to raise funds and awareness for pediatric cancer patients.
The reason KLINE plans on running 62 miles is that 62 also stands for the number of beds being occupied at any one time by pediatric cancer patients at TEXAS CHILDREN'S CANCER CENTER. While KLINE and his coach, TIM NECKAR, are the only two scheduled to run the whole seven days, runners are encouraged to participate and run/walk some of the route with them.
"I hope this run will inspire people to donate for these amazing kids, and that every step will bring us one step closer to a cure," noted KLINE, who is also President and Founder of SNOWDROP FOUNDATION, which supports cutting edge work in pediatric cancer research, provides twice annual weekend excursions for patients, and awards college scholarships to pediatric cancer patients and childhood cancer survivors.
