Longtime CLEAR CHANNEL Classic Rock WDVE/PITTSBURGH morning host JIMMY KRENN may not be MIA for much longer. PITTSBURGHLIVE.COM reports that reps for KRENN, who has been off the air since DEC 1st, reportedly on "vacation," is engaged in talks with management about returning to the air.
According to the website, the current talks are not contract negotiations. KRENN's agent, DAVID SEDELMEIER of TALENT NETWORK, INC., told the website that WDVE management made a "unilateral decision" to take KRENN off the air, but that his return could happen "soon."
"JIMMY's show has been No. 1 for a long time in the highest revenue demographic of the 25-54 (age group)," SEDELMEIER said. "He has just received a national community service award, and we are looking to nominate him for the RADIO HALL OF FAME. He qualifies in several categories.
"What you see is what you get," he said of KRENN. "He really enjoys his fans... he enjoys being a Pittsburgher, and he feels very fortunate to be a regular guy and to have such a great job, which permits him to have fun every day and engage a very loyal audience. He enjoys that."
