CUMULUS BROADCASTING will move longtime Classic Rock KGGO/DES MOINES morning duo LOU and HEATHER (LOU SIPOLT and HEATHER BURNSIDE) across the hall to News/Talk sister KWQW (WOW-FM). Trading places with them on KGGO will be the syndicated BOB & TOM show; the switch happens JANUARY 2nd..
"We’re excited to be able to bring 20+ years of morning success to our News/Talk station and can completely eliminate the music on their show in favor of more of why DES MOINES-area listeners want to listen to LOU and HEATHER," CUMULUS MEDIA SVP/Programming MIKE MCVAY said. "It’s for them and what they have to say. BOB & TOM’s show is better suited for the Classic Rock that is played on KGGO and will better position both stations for the future. There is no better time than the week that starts with the IOWA caucus to launch these new morning shows."
"This is a great time for both WOW and 95 KGGO," CUMULUS/DES MOINES OM TJ HART said. "Longtime DES MOINES radio favorites LOU and HEATHER are being given the freedom on WOW to simply be LOU and HEATHER for a long, long time, while BOB and TOM settle in for a long ride on 95 KGGO."
"BOB & TOM are an amazingly entertaining duo and their ensemble cast creates 'Can’t-Miss Radio'," KGGO PD MIKE FITZGERALD added
LOU and HEATHER’s last show on KGGO takes place on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 30th and will feature special guests and a sharing of KGGO memories.
