A man working on a communications tower owned by MERIDIAN BROADCASTING died approximately 600 feet above the ground in BONITA SPRINGS, FL. FT. MYERS NEWS-PRESS.COM has reported that the man has been identified as NICK ROUSKEY, 61, of CAPE CORAL.
Preliminary reports indicate that the contractor’s death was accidental. BONITA SPRINGS Deputy Fire Chief FRANK GIULIANO said ROUSKEY was working on the tower’s electrical system when he died. However, ROUSKEY’s grandson, "who was working at the foot of the tower, called in and reported his grandfather had become 'distressed.'" Deputies responded to the tower in reference to a man who appeared to be stuck in the tower; an aviation unit determined that the man was deceased.
ROUSKEY’s body has been transported to the medical examiner's office where an autopsy will be conducted to determine his cause of death.
