COX Alternative WDYL (Y101)/RICHMOND has hired BRIAN HADDAD (aka SLUDGE) for mornings replacing CHARLIE PADGETT, who left the station last OCTOBER. SLUDGE has spent the past 10 years in the WINDY CITY. He has logged time at EMMIS Alternative WKQX (Q101), (now defunct) ABC RADIO Active Rock WZZN (94.7 THE ZONE), and most recently weekends/fill-in at CBS RADIO Talk WCKG (FREE FM). SLUDGE starts at Y101 on JUNE 5th.
An excited WDYL PD ERIC KRISTENSEN said, "This is huge for us. We are so excited to have someone at the talent level of BRIAN to be the cornerstone of Y101."
"I couldn't be more stoked to join Y101!," said SLUDGE. "My motto has always been "work hard, play hard, drink it up, wait, is that Gatorade? Well, it was mine first, and that's what I'm bringing to Richmond, except for the "drink it up" part. well, we will be drinking, nevermind."
Also, SLUDGE's voice and production business has been booming. You will hear him on the XBOX 360 game "Saint's Row," due for release in AUGUST. His recent Alternative radio clients include 91X/SAN DIEGO, WMFS/MEMPHIS, KQXR/BOISE, and KRZQ/RENO.
