PAMPLIN MEDIA GROUP, including Talk KPAM-A (AM 860, THE VOICE OF PORTLAND) and Talk KKOV-A/PORTLAND as well as the PORTLAND TRIBUNE and 16 community publications, has inked a new multi-year media partnership with crosstown CBS affiliate KOIN-TV (KOIN LOCAL 6). The deal, which begins MONDAY (1/9) and includes content-sharing on radio, TV, print, online, and mobile, replaces PAMPLIN's previous partnership with FOX affiliate KPTV (FOX 12).
KPAM PD DENNIS GLASGOW said, "This is a watershed moment for the PAMPLIN MEDIA GROUP that simply and clearly defines our group as the local news leaders in PORTLAND. There's not one other media partnership in our city that can lay claim to the winning trifecta that is AM 860, THE PORTLAND TRIBUNE and KOIN LOCAL 6."
"KOIN-TV has served the PORTLAND market as the CBS affiliate since 1953. KOIN LOCAL 6 and PAMPLIN COMMUNICATIONS make for perfect content partners because both companies are strongly committed to providing the best in local news and information. We are very enthusiastic about entering this strategic partnership with such a talented group of media executives and committed journalists. We look forward to deepening our tenured relationship with this community," said KOIN-TV Pres./GM TIM PERRY.
