PANDORA is making its presence felt at the CES by announcing new metrics that show continued growth and partnerships with two automakers, a middleware manfacturer, an aftermarket supplier and a satellite TV provider.
PANDORA is now deployed on more than 450 consumer electronic devices, up from 200 products the same time last year. It now has more than 125 million registered users and the average listener time has increased to a record 18 hours per month -- and a newly released Internet Audio Top 20 Rankers report by TRITON DIGITAL gives PANDORA a record 68% market share.
PANDORA also announced new partnerships with ACURA and KIA, middleware manufacturer and AUDIOVOX (aftermarket), as well as satellite TV provider DISH NETWORK.
"Growth of this magnitude reflects a fundamental shift in radio," PANDORA Founder/Chief Strategy Officer TIM WESTERGREN said, As more and more people are discovering the joy of personalized radio automotive and consumer electronics companies are innovating to meet consumer expectations and demand. It's an incredibly exciting time for our business, and music lovers everywhere."
As reported here earlier, JUNGO LTD. has pre-integrated PANDORA Internet radio with the JUNGO automotive software suite to enable rapid deployment for in-vehicle infotainment systems. The joint solution is being showcased at the CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SHOW in LAS VEGAS, which has just started.
The integration of PANDORA’s proprietary automotive API, PANDORA Link, with JUNGO’s MediaCore automotive middleware enables motorists to stream and control personalized PANDORA stations through a car’s audio system via a smartphone application, It also enables the display of station and track information on the audio system screen.
"Using the smartphone as an Internet radio source in the car infotainment system is very appealing to many motorists," JUNGO Connectivity Software GM OPHIR HERBST said. "This joint development illustrates that both Pandora and JUNGO are serious about building mature, proven and pre-integrated technologies for the infotainment market."
"Providing in-car personalized radio for our listeners is a top priority for PANDORA and we are pleased that JUNGO is helping to bring PANDORA into the car by offering OEMs a quick and streamlined process for integration." EVP/Business and Corporate Development JESSICA STEEL said.
