Veteran recording artist and funk legend JIMMY CASTOR, who had many hits and was a concert favorite from the '60s and '70s, has passed. Cause of death has not been determined, but CASTOR is believed to have died of natural causes; he was 64.
CASTOR, along with his band THE BUNCH, were responsible for novelty songs such as “Bertha Butt” and "Troglodytes.” The native New Yorker was chosen to replace FRANKIE LYMON in THE TEENAGERS when FRANKIE died.
