Condolences to the family and friends of influential booking agent IAN COPELAND, who passed away from melanoma on TUESDAY (5/23) in LOS ANGELES. The brother of former POLICE drummer STEWART COPELAND and I.R.S. RECORDS head MILES COPELAND, IAN opened the F.B.I. agency with former PARAGON agent BUCK WILLIAMS. As one of the top agencies of the ‘80s, F.B.I. acts included R.E.M., STING, THE BANGLES, THE GO-GOS, THE SMITHS, THE THOMPSON TWINS, THE FIXX, UB40, JOAN JETT AND THE BLACK HEARTS, OINGO BOINGO, THE DEAD KENNEDYS and THE CURE. Most recently, he was the principal owner of BACKSTAGE CAFE in BEVERLY HILLS.
COPELAND is survived by daughters CHANDRA and BARBARA, his brothers, his mother, and a sister, LENNIE. For more on his life and times, click here.
