WAFN Owner Michael St. John Honored

Congrats to FUN MEDIA GROUP Oldies WAFN (FUN 92.7)/ARAB, AL owner MICHAEL ST. JOHN, who was recognized "for getting information out to residents during and after the tornadoes of APRIL 27th," reports THE ARAB TRIBUNE. ST. JOHN was honored as the 2011 Humanitarian of MARSHALL COUNTY.

In presenting the award, MARTHA MCCLENDON of DHR said "A lot of terrible things happened that day, but a lot of good things happened, too. A lot of people could receive this award based on what they did during and after the tornadoes. But we are here today to honor MICHAEL ST. JOHN and FUN 92.7."

"They got vital information out to the people about who had food and who had ice, and they let people come in, and call in, and tell what they needed," added MCCLENDON. "The radio station was the lifeline of the community and the county during that time."
