AMERICAN MEDIA INVESTMENTS INC. is selling Talk KKTK-A (K-TALK 1400)/TEXARKANA, TX to ROBERT A. DELGIORNO JR.'s FREED AM CORP. for $250,000 plus $41,900 for the station's real estate.
In other filings with the FCC, CALVARY RADIO NETWORK, INC. is selling noncommercial WPJC/PONTIAC. IL to WPRR, INC. for $80,000.
COMMUNITY RADIO FOUNDATION OF FLORIDA, INC. is donating noncommercial WTYC/MARIETTA, OH to AMERICAN FAMILY ASSOCIATION (JOY CHRISTIAN COMMUNICATIONS), citing "severe health issues and recent transplant surgery" for the move.
EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION has asked for a Silent STA for WGCQ/HAYTI, MO due to expiration of its tower site lease.
WISDOM BROADCASTING CO. has closed on the sale of Jazz KRML-A/CARMEL, CA to SCOTT MCKAY for $150,000.
And the Commission approved CRAWFORD BROADCASTING (KIERTRON INC.) Religion KBRT-A/AVALON-LOS ANGELES' application to move its transmitter off CATALINA ISLAND to ORANGE COUNTY, CA. The move increases daytime power to 50,000 watts and will offer 190 watts at night and was prompted in part by an expiring lease on CATALINA and conflicts with local residents in the wake of the fire that spread from KBRT's site in 2007. The new facility is a four-tower array at the former site of KPLS-A/ORANGE (now LOS ANGELES ANGELS Sports KLAA-A [AM 830]).
