Condolences to the family and friends of LESLIE CARTER -- sister of pop star NICK CARTER -- who died at age 25.

TMZ reports, "LESLIE CARTER was battling an addiction to prescription medication in the days before her death ... and family members believe she died as a result of an overdose. Sources close to the 'House of CARTER's' reality star tell TMZ ... the 25-year-old sister of NICK CARTER had recently moved from CANADA to UPSTATE NEW YORK to live with family members while she attempted to kick her addiction."

NICK CARTER's management released a statement, writing he "is thankful to the many people and the fans who have shared their wishes and prayers during this tragic time. We want to let the fans know the tour will go on as promised. 'Performing is cathartic to me and I am dedicating the rest of my tour to my sister since she loved to watch me perform,' said CARTER. Also, we ask that the press respects NICK's privacy during his time of grief."
