Broadcaster, Media Broker Al Perry Dies

Condolences to family and friends of longtime COLORADO broadcaster and media broker AL PERRY, whose passing was announced by the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF MEDIA BROKERS (NAMB) TODAY (2/9).

PERRY started in radio in 1948 on the air at KDZA-A/PUEBLO, CO, then moved to crosstown WCSJ-A and on to DENVER at KMYR-A.  After serving in the military, PERRY joined KKTV (TV)/COLORADO SPRINGS, then moved into sales at KLZ-A/DEBVER in 1955.  He was named GSM at KTLN-A/DENVER in 1958, launched KTUX-A/PUEBLO in 1959, and sold that station in 1961, joining KOA-TV/DENVER as LSM.  Later, he joined KLAK-A/DENVER as GM, and followed that with a ten-year stint as GM at KOSI-A-F/DENVER.  He then partnered with JACK SATTERFIELD to form media brokerage SATTERFIELD AND PERRY, INC. in 1988.

"AL was a dyed-in-the-wool broadcaster who set a high professional standard for the brokerage community," said NAMB President JODY MCCOY. "All of us owe him a debt of gratitude."
