WKDD Raises Over $700K For Children's Hospital

CLEAR CHANNEL MEDIA + ENTERTAINMENT NORTHERN OHIO Regional Programming Manager KEITH KENNEDY tells ALL ACCESS that CLEAR CHANNEL Hot AC WKDD/AKRON demonstrated "the power of local radio this past weekend as listeners to 98.1 WKDD pledged $716,483.98 to AKRON CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL during the 13th annual 'Have a Heart, Do Your Part Radiothon'."

Beginning on THURSDAY FEBRUARY 9th and ending FEBRUARY 11th WKDD's KENNEDY and JENN RYAN hosted the 38 hour event live from the hospital. Listeners were encouraged to make pledges after hearing emotional stories of children who benefitted from the treatment they received at the hospital.

"The story of this Hospital is more than just medical treatment. It’s the care given to a child from every employee. Everyone is a family member here," said KENNEDY. "Without question, our community understands what a unique facility Children's is, and pledged their support. One hundred percent of the money that is raised during radiothon will benefit the patients treated at AKRON CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL."
