The drama over management of PACIFICA noncommercial Variety KPFA/BERKELEY-SAN FRANCISCO continues with some donors filing a complaint with the CALIFORNIA Attorney General complaining that by not allowing a recall election for board member and treasurer TRACY ROSENBERG, the station violated its bylaws.
The CONTRA COSTA TIMES reports that volunteer MARGY WILKINSON said the PACIFICA FOUNDATION refused to send recall ballots to donors, and called ROSENBERG "a key figure in a series of disastrous decisions that have imperiled station finances," specifically being involved in a change in the station's morning show that WILKINSON said hurt the station's bottom line. ROSENBERG responded that the station needed to cut costs and union rules dictated that the morning show, with the least seniority, had to be the firs to go, and that after the change, the station went from being $550,000 in the hole to almost break-even.
