The official response of CLEAR CHANNEL Talk KFI-A/LOS ANGELES in the wake of the JOHN AND KEN suspension over comments about WHITNEY HOUSTON includes a list of steps the station has taken or plans to take to address the concerns of the activists with whom the hosts and PD ROBIN BERTOLUCCI met on MONDAY.
In the memo, the steps listed include the already-aired apology and a guest shot by one of the activists on the show MONDAY, working with the community to create updated "guidelines" for the hosts, sensitivity training for key staff and management, use of the KFI website to link to other community websites on significant issues, increased minority internship opportunities, and a review of the cluster's Talk formats to "find a platform for auditioning a diverse group of local hosts and guests" and to create "unique programming to reflect important issues to our multi-cultural community." The memo was signed by BERTOLUCCI, Market Manager GREG ASHLOCK, and Marketing Director and weekend host NEIL SAAVEDRA.
