Report: Vevo Considering A Move To Facebook From Google

THE NEW YORK POST is reporting "FACEBOOK's bid to land music-video hub VEVO is about more than bragging rights: it could be just the boost it needs to beat back GOOGLE's ascent as leader in online display advertising."

The negotiations between FACEBOOK and VEVO reportedly began in JANUARY, despite a deal in place between VEVO and GOOGLE that runs through 2012.

"VEVO is a great partner and has been doing well and building large audiences on YOUTUBE," a spokesman for YOUTUBE told the paper. "We can't get into negotiation specifics, but we hope for a long-lasting, fruitful relationship with them."

THE POST notes, "Last week, VEVO told its users that they will have to sign in using their FACEBOOK logins starting MARCH 9th -- a sign of closer cooperation between the two sites."
