It's "at the most initial possible stage," according to a KVTT/DALLAS spokesman, but the noncommercial COVENANT EDUCATIONAL MEDIA Religion station is talking to the CITY OF DALLAS about a possible swap that could preserve Classical WRR/DALLAS on KVTT's 91.7 frequency while allowing the parties to sell off WRR's valuable commercial license, according to the DALLAS MORNING NEWS. The city has explored channel swaps and sales in the past, but has encountered resistance because the proposals did not offer solutions that would preserve the Classical format on a signal with full-market coverage. A sale of WRR"s 101.1 FM frequency could fetch about $50 million.
Both KVTT and WRR have Class C facilities on towers in the CEDAR HILL antenna farm, although WRR's is several hundred feet higher.
