Former FCC Commissioner MICHAEL J. COPPS has joined the National Governing Board of government watchdog COMMON CAUSE.
“MICHAEL COPPS is a distinguished public servant whose tireless support for media laws and regulations that serve the public interest and an internet that is open and accessible to all meshes perfectly with COMMON CAUSE’s reform agenda,” said COMMON CAUSE Pres./CEO and former Congressman BOB EDGAR. “We’re fortunate that he’s chosen to continue his service beyond his retirement by joining our board.”
COPPS is one of five new board members at COMMON CAUSE, including NATIONAL COUNCIL OF JEWISH WOMEN immediate past President NANCY RATZAN, NEW JERSEY INSTITUTE FOR SOCIAL JUSTIC Pres./CEO WILLIAM BROOKS, lawyer ANGELA ONWUACHI-WILLIG and SAN ANTONIO activist OLGA KAUFFMAN.
