A woman who allegedly lied about being mentally ill to get out of jury duty has been arrested on felony charges after allegedly calling into CLEAR CHANNEL Talk KOA-A/DENVER to brag about her ruse.
The DENVER POST reports that SUSAN COLE, a cosmetologist and author, called into DAVE LOGAN's show as "CHAR from DENVER" on OCTOBER 17th to describe how she dressed and made herself up to appear unprepared to serve (with hair in curlers, smeared makeup, and mismatched shoes and socks) and told Judge ANNE MANSFIELD that she had a mental illness and suffered from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. MANSFIELD heard the show and investigators determined from the "CHAR" name (COLE's pen name) and other information that the caller was COLE, who allegedly wanted to get out of serving after wrongly believing her cousin had been involved in a fatal motorcycle accident the previous day.
