Former WSOU Faculty Adviser Charged With Embezzlement

The former SETON HALL UNIVERSITY faculty director of noncommercial WSOU/SOUTH ORANGE, NJ was arrested and charged with money laundering and embezzlement of over $550,000 in underwriting and subcarrier lease payments from the station.
MICHAEL COLLAZO was arrested THURSDAY and accused of taking $236,000 in underwriting funds and over $342,000 in subcarrier lease fees paid by HAITIAN broadcaster RADIO VERITE and programming for the blind station EIES. COLLAZO was fired from the school in JULY 2004 after an audit; he faces 10-20 years in prison if convicted.
