An all-star benefit concert, "We're Doing It For Love," will be held at NEW YORK's BEACON THEATER on FRIDAY JUNE 23rd. The star-studded line-up currently includes ROBERT PLANE, IAN HUNTER, RYAN ADAMS, NILS LOFGREN, YO LA TENGO, GARLAND JEFFREYS and more.
The concert will raise funds for legendary artist ARTHUR LEE, who is battling Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML). LEE influenced many artists, and his band LOVE was the first Rock band signed to ELEKTRA RECORDS. LEE is responsible for talking company founder JAC HOLZMAN into signing THE DOORS, and for giving then-unknown JIMI HENDRIX his first appearance on record in 1964.
Tickets are available at the BEACON THEATER box office (74th & Broadway) and all TICKETMASTER outlets (212-307-7171), www.ticketmaster.com.
